Job Description and Responsibilities

We are currently accepting resumes from experienced candidates for our Tech I positions in our recently re-opened Spiral Pipe Mill.

Successful candidates will be selected to work in the Forming, Finishing or Shipping departments.

The Forming department is responsible for receiving coils, splicing coils together and edge milling the skelp in preparation for welding. The skelp is then processed through the forming section where it is formed into a pipe and ID and OD welded. The welding process uses dual submerged arc welding.


The Finishing department is responsible for cutting pipe to exact lengths, conducting hydrostatic tests, finishing pipe ends and stenciling pipe per customer specifications. The Finishing department works closely with Non Destructive Testing (NDT) employees during the inspection process.


The Shipping department is responsible for the movement of pipe in the pipe yard. Rails cars are stripped, prepped and then loaded and banded for shipment to the customer.



Job Requirements

Requirements:

• Able to work safely in a heavy manufacturing environment.
• Able to work in an environment subject to fluctuations in heat, humidity, fumes, odors, dust and noise.
• Flexibility and willingness to learn and accept changes in job duties.
• Ability to attain qualification in multiple positions.
• Able to work independently or in team environment.
• Careful reading and attention to detail, close observation and concentration skills.
• Good manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination and/or mechanical aptitude.
• Good planning and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Good math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and accurate number identification.
• Able to become an EVRAZ Certified Mobile Equipment Operator.
• Ability to use basic hand tools: wrenches, screwdrivers, tape measure, hammer and hand torch.
• Successful completion of ergonomic evaluation of physical requirements of position (sitting, standing, walking, lifting and/or carrying up to 20 lbs., occasional bending, pulling, pushing, reaching/crouching).
• 6-12 months experience in an industrial environment is preferred.
• Must be legally eligible to work in The United States without sponsorship.
