Job Description and Responsibilities

We are currently looking for a Technical Training Supervisor to join our team in Portland , OR.

Under the direction of the Technical Training Manager and/or Lean Leader, the Training Supervisor is responsible for developing and delivering training materials to a variety of audiences, covering wide ranging subject matters. These materials may relate to job skill progression and production systems elements.

 Additional responsibilities included, but are not limited to:

  • Works with subject matter experts (SMEs) to design, develop and implement training and effectiveness evaluations that support both organizational and departmental training objectives
  • Create and maintain course content, manuals and other training materials.
  • Design/prepare/procure educational aids
  • Ensure Work Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures, Visual Standard Work and other training materials are appropriately incorporated into training and overall job performance
  • Conduct audits and evaluate the effectiveness of training to ensure operators are performing operations as stated
  • Maintain files of training materials and of all training conducted; maintain the ability to produce training records as required for audits (LMS)
  • Works with supervisors, leads, and LEAN leaders to ensure that employees are effectively trained so that they may progress upward in their skill levels and are highly qualified candidates for possible promotions.



Job Requirements

 

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years of experience or high school diploma and at least 5 years of applicable experience
  • At least 2 years manufacturing experience
  • At least 2 years of supervisory/leadership experience preferred
  • Demonstrated, verifiable job experience that required effective development and delivery of training to adults
  • Excellent interpersonal skill and the ability to work independently and interdependently
  • Train the Trainer experience. 
  • Experience/ familiarity with Workday or a similar LMS a plus 
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and other office-related computer software, using a computer (PC).
  • Verifiable achievement of formal Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Green/Black Belt Certificates preferred
