Job Description and Responsibilities

We are seeking an Strategic Sourcing Analyst to join our team. In this role, this individual will be responsible for supporting strategic sourcing operations by collecting, analyzing, and managing data to provide key insights for actionable improvements to the procurement organization.  The Analyst will provide analytical rigor and technical expertise to produce fact based summary information enabling improvement to sourcing decisions and processes.  The Analyst will also use existing Value Stream Analysis information to lead process improvement efforts across multiple facilities in North America.

  • Gather and analyze procurement metrics using data collection techniques in order to report results to be used in business plan and strategy development
  • Synthesize data and identify issues through operational and financial analysis in order to improve performance
  • Query, extract, and process data to help make decisions by ensuring accuracy from multiple sources of information
  • Compile annual spending reports. Refine and improve the data with input from the Purchasing Team. Analyze the data to identify trends and opportunities for supplier or category consolidation
  • Create and maintain reports on commodity usage. Track commodity pricing, comparing actual prices to industry benchmarks
  • Lead process improvement teams across multiple facilities
  • Analyze RFx (Request for Quotation, Proposal) responses and summarize results
  • Participate as a lead team member in deployment and implementation of new Oracle procurement modules
  • Assist in administrative duties in the Oracle Purchasing module



Job Requirements

  • 2-4 years of data and financial analysis experience
  • 2-4 years of Procurement, Supply Chain or Operations experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Oracle systems, Microsoft Power BI and Profisee; excellent Excel skills, strong skills in Powerpoint, Word, and Access
  • Ability to lead process improvement teams
  • Ability to provide training to new and existing users of database and reporting systems
  • Functional knowledge of procurement practices and requirements
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties
  • Experience with a manufacturing organization and indirect operating supplies is preferred
