Job Description and Responsibilities

EVRAZ NA is looking for Senior Project Manager to join our corporate office in Chicago.  The Senior Program Manager is responsible for delivering and advancing the Manufacturing and ERP solutions through the successful on-time and on-budget delivery of Information Technology solutions. This position has focus on the Manufacturing and ERP standardization projects. This position is also responsible for establishing project management best practices, mentoring project managers and actively engaging in projects to influence the successful delivery of the project. In some cases, this role may serve as both the program and project manager. The Senior Program Manager will report to the VP and CIO.


• Owns hands-on delivery of programs and projects
• Responsible for managing dependencies and requirements, management of resources across projects, delivery, testing and business teams and communications to and with leadership
• Manage the planning, risk and issue management, resource plans and status reporting of multiple projects
• Overall project management of the system development life cycle as it relates to quality and success in all life cycle phases including requirement definition, design, development, testing and debugging, conversion and implementation
• Provides specialized technical manufacturing and ERP knowledge or equivalent, program management expertise, business acumen, and leadership skills to facilitate the identification and management of all interdependencies and areas of risk
• Monitor and report progress throughout the program life cycle using appropriate executive level communication understood by stakeholders, executive sponsors and customers
• Lead and manage projects as assigned, both tactical and strategic
• Reviews all project documentation to ensure it adheres to the agreed upon business requirements and project scope
• Ensures adherence to project plans and schedules, develops solutions to project problems, and directs work of resources assigned to projects across functional divisions/areas
• Manage internal customer relationships
• Coach, guide, train project team members and other PMs on project management best practices and related artifacts and deliverables
• Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals



Job Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Technology, Business or Engineering
• PMP Certification and experience managing manufacturing and ERP deployments. Experience with Oracle EBS preferred
• Lean Six Sigma certification a plus
• Minimum 15 years’ progressive IT project management experience
• Minimum 5 years’ experience working with manufacturing and ERP solutions
• Experience in steel manufacturing or similar industry a plus
• ERP experience an asset, experience with Oracle EBS a plus
• Experience managing multiple large, complex projects across multiple functions
• Proven expertise successfully managing business and technical resources under an integrated project plan to ensure the alignment of resources
• Experience with the retirement of customized applications and ERP standardization
• Advanced analytical and project management skills
• Demonstrated experience delivering measurable business benefit through project execution
• Must be able to distill complex issues into understandable problems with innovative mitigation
• Demonstrated proficiency in facilitating, delegating and motivating cross functional groups or activities
• Exposure with change management/facilitation, enterprise communication and training
• Proven leadership, with the ability to lead up, across, and down multiple business and technology functions
• Provide leadership, guidance, influence and mentoring for project teams
• Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• High degree of professional confidence and credibility with the presence and communication skills to effectively work w/senior management
• Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal skills
• Microsoft Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Project Proficiency Experience with Primavera a plus
• Must be able to travel between the USA and Canada
