Job Description and Responsibilities

The Senior Human Resources Specialist role provides support to the Senior Human Resources Manager at EVRAZ NA HQ and assists in strategic planning, as well as maintaining operational HR functions such as compliance, talent acquisition, global mobility, employee engagement, policies, and procedures. From operations to culture-building, this role will help shape our engaging Human Resources strategy at EVRAZ.  By developing and administering our internal policies, processes, and programs, the Senior Human Resources Specialist will work to ensure each EVRAZ employee is empowered to perform to their highest potential.

 

Responsibilities

  • Act as front-line employee inquiry triage, resolving questions and concerns – know when to escalate matters to the Sr. HR Manager
  • Process, record, and maintain employee data changes within HRIS
  • Draft, develop, interpret, maintain, and provide guidance on company-wide communications
  • Promote employee engagement: lead event planning committee, maintain award and recognition programs
  • Assist with the creation, development, and facilitation of company-wide trainings
  • Manage both onboarding and offboarding processes, from facilitation of new hire orientation to exit interviews
  • Develop and maintain company’s employer branding efforts in partnership with Dir, Communications
  • Support the Talent Acquisition process: post requisitions interview ad hoc candidates, draft offer letters, process pre-employment, assist in analyzing metrics
  • Assist Sr. HR Manager with development of overall team objectives, processes, and structure
  • Maintain working knowledge of HR legal requirements related to day-to-day operations, reducing legal risks, and assisting with regulatory compliance where needed
  • Maintain HQ compliance through employee personnel and I-9 filing
  • Assist with resolving ad hoc HQ employee relations issues
  • Protect organizational value by maintaining confidential information
  • Complete ad hoc research and/or special projects, as needed



Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Completed Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, I-O Psychology, or related field
  • 3 – 5 years’ prior Human Resources experience required
  • Working knowledge of both federal and state employment laws and regulations
  • Demonstrated proficiency within Microsoft Office suite
  • Workday HRIS experience strongly preferred
  • S/PHR certification is a plus
