City: Regina / State: Saskatchewan                                                   


At EVRAZ North America, we manufacture engineered steel products for rail, energy and industrial end markets at six production sites located in the USA (Portland, Oregon; Pueblo, Colorado) and Canada (Regina, Saskatchewan; Calgary, Camrose and Red Deer, Alberta). Job Description and Responsibilities

 

The Senior Human Resources Manager oversees the Regina Human Resources (HR) team in addition to supporting multiple mill Superintendents, General Supervisors and all first line leaders. The successful candidate will serve as the key business partner to multiple departments, providing advice, counsel and coaching on all matters relating to human capital issues. The Senior Human Resources Manager will also be responsible for exercising considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships with employees and members of management. This will be a boots on the ground position and will require exceptional tactical skills.

  • Oversee team of HR professionals
  • Collaborate and develop a true HR Business Partner relationship
  • Ensure the HR function's priorities and efforts are customer centric and aligned to the execution of the business strategy
  • Ensure the mill is developing and maintaining a robust and sustainable talent pipeline
  • Affect cultural change to one of a collaborative environment
  • Design, document and implement a robust human resources service model
  • Ensure transactional basics are functioning and delivering effective and efficient services
  • Responsible for developing, managing and enhancing a variety of training and development programs and other programs as assigned
  • Provide consultative support to management for the consistent and appropriate application of policies and procedures
  • Responsible for maintaining the highest level of integrity, professionalism, fairness and confidentiality in all aspects of job performance
  • Coach leaders to optimize talent



 



Job Requirements

 

  • 10+ years of professional human resources experience in a unionized environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field
  • Experience in administration and negotiation of collective bargaining agreements
  • Broad knowledge of HR practices including compensation, performance management, leadership development, employee relations, change management and organizational development
  • Ability to motivate staff and effectively accomplish tasks through others; ability to foster a cooperative work environment in a matrix organization
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products and the ability to learn various in-house computer software
  • Experience in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community; effective conflict resolution and/or mediation skills
  • A high degree of comfort in an industrial setting and the ability to occasionally work varied hours, including weekends, based on departmental and business needs
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work under pressure and handle multiple highly sensitive issues simultaneously while managing competing priorities and stakeholders
  • Ability to execute all deliverables and communications with executive level, professional quality and an extreme focus on the details
