Senior Financial Analyst (FP&A)

City: Calgary / State: Alberta                                                   


At EVRAZ North America, we manufacture engineered steel products for rail, energy and industrial end markets at six production sites located in the USA (Portland, Oregon; Pueblo, Colorado) and Canada (Regina, Saskatchewan; Calgary, Camrose and Red Deer, Alberta). We are the largest North American producer by volume in the rail and large diameter pipe markets, and we hold leading positions in the Western Canada oil country tubular goods, small diameter pipe and West Coast plate markets.

 

 



Job Description and Responsibilities

 

This position will be on an important member of our Evraz Canada Finance group. In this role you will be responsible for consolidation, analysis and reporting (incl. reports development and maintenance) activities related to Evraz Canada Divison performance. This role implies strong financial expertise & analytical skills, experience with Hyperion cloud reporting tools, ability to quickly obtain understanding of business process, IT and Finance systems infrastructure, good coordination with multiple (incl. cross-function) stakeholders and ability to prioritize and achieve goals within tough deadlines.

You will be located in Calgary office and will report to Finance Manager responsible for Evraz Canada Management Reporting and Analysis. Duties and responsibilities are listed below

Responsibilities

  • Support consolidation team lead (Finance Manager) in monthly routine and ad hoc tasks related to Canada Division reporting and analysis
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders (finance team, HQ Consolidation and PMO teams, mills general managers, etc.)
  • Get a sound understanding of Evraz Canada business structure and products, operational flows and financial systems
  • Develop and maintain finance reporting in Hyperion (EPBCS, EPRCS) and PowerBI. Support Finance Manager and mill financial managers with technical issues related to reports.
  • Develop Financial & Operations KPI dashboards using Hyperion and data visualization techniques
  • Conduct in-depth variance analysis on monthly financial results, provide synthesis of key information to Finance Manager and other stakeholders as required
  • Assist in developing of standard reporting framework, KPIs, definitions for Canada Division business unit
  • Assist with review and analyze business unit’s forecast assumptions
  • Assist with preparation of Divisional budgets
  • Assist in preparation of monthly and quarterly operations/financial performance reports and presentations to Senior Management team
  • Assists with special business related studies and financial analysis as required
  • Assist with special projects on an as needed basis
  • Collaborate cross functionally (incl. HQ office teams) to help to continually improve forecast and budget accuracy.
  • Support the EPBCS System Administrator and perform general system maintenance
  • Other responsibilities as required

 



 



Job Requirements

 

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field
  • Preferred candidates will have 3-5 years of finance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Professional accounting designation (ACCA, ACA, CPA, CFA, other similar) is preferred
  • Strong experience with Oracle and Hyperion applications (especially Cloud solutions)
  • Good experience with modelling / valuation
  • ERP experience, business analytics / reporting is desired
  • Experience in Business Intelligence using Tableau or Microsoft BI is desired
  • Excellent skills in MS Office Suite
  • Knowledge of and experience with financial modeling
  • Must be detail oriented, analytical, problem solver and creative thinker
  • Must have time management and organization skills and ability to work quickly with tight deadlines
  • Pro-active mindset and good communication skills, team oriented, collaborative working style
