Job Description and Responsibilities

The Health and Safety Supervisor will help manage the safety culture in Portland.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Identify hazardous workplace conditions and at-risk situations
  • Participate and develop the training for employees and contractors on safety policies, procedures and regulations
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state health and safety regulations; ensures necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines
  • Participate in workplace inspections and provides action items to reduce risk



Job Requirements

  • 5 years’ experience in managing a comprehensive safety program
  • B.S. in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Human Resources Management or related field preferred.
  • Must be detail oriented and well organized
  • Must have good time management skills and be a self-starter
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to affect positive behavior in others
  • Experience in heavy manufacturing environment preferred.
