City: Calgary / State: Alberta                                                   


At EVRAZ North America, we manufacture engineered steel products for rail, energy and industrial end markets at six production sites located in the USA (Portland, Oregon; Pueblo, Colorado) and Canada (Regina, Saskatchewan; Calgary, Camrose and Red Deer, Alberta). We are the largest North American producer by volume in the rail and large diameter pipe markets, and we hold leading positions in the Western Canada oil country tubular goods, small diameter pipe and West Coast plate markets.

 

 



Job Description and Responsibilities

 

EVRAZ North America is looking for a Safety Manager at our Tubular Plant in Calgary, Alberta. As Safety Manager you will interface with other EVRAZ professionals to ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety standards.

  • Conduct safety audit to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and the company safety program
  • Oversee all responsibilities for safety at the Calgary Plant
  • Manage WCB (Wellington College Belfast) cases
  • Review written safety programs and procedures for effectiveness and compliance
  • Develop and facilitate on the job and classroom safety training
  • Coordinate and provide general support to safety committee activities.
    Provide technical support as it relates to safety
  • Conduct incident investigations with root cause analysis
  • Develop Job Safety Analysis and Standard Operating Procedures for department functions
  • Work effectively within each business function within the organization



 



Job Requirements

 

  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety & Environment or a related field
  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP)
  • 3 years of Safety program management experience and training
  • Heavy Manufacturing experience in an industrial setting
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable regulations
  • Must be mechanically inclined to review, comprehend, and recommend effective solutions as they relate to safety and compliance issues
  • Effective leadership skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
