Job Description and Responsibilities

 

Evraz Inc NA has an opening for a Research Engineer at the Research and Development Regina facility.

  • The position will involve the direction and coordination of research projects pertaining to the production and processing of high strength line pipe and structural steel. 
  • Additionally, the successful candidate will undertake product analyses, assist operating divisions in trials and development activities, investigate any customer queries and provide training together with work direction for research technologists

 



 



Job Requirements

 

  • Applicants should possess a M.Sc. in Metallurgical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a strong knowledge of Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) steelmaking and/or steel physical metallurgy
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant industrial or research experience is desirable
  • A general knowledge of physical metallurgy and mechanical testing practices is also required

Job Requirements

  • M.Sc. in Metallurgical or Materials Engineering, preference will be given to candidates with a strong knowledge of Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) steelmaking and/or steel physical metallurgy
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant industrial or research experience
  • A general knowledge of physical metallurgy and mechanical testing practices is also required
  • Proficient in verbal and written English, and exhibit good presentation skills
  • Knowledge of data acquisition systems
  • Experience with statistical experimental design and analysis is beneficial
  • Ability to travel
