Job Description and Responsibilities

 

EVRAZ NA has is seeking a Quality Systems Supervisor to facilitate the improvement of our quality system processes in the areas of Measure and Test Equipment(MTE) and Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) at our Regina facility.  Additionally, the successful candidate would develop and manage the implementation of any Quality Management Software designed to integrate document and records management, CAPA management, and integrated QMS (Quality Management System) employee training solutions. This role reports to the Quality Assurance Manager.                                                

  • Support supplier development activities in conjunction with the internal Technical Services Department including inter-company TPG (EVRAZ Tubular Group) internal, external and supplier quality audit functions
  • Implement and continually improve the QMS management software package including document and records management, MTE management and CAPA solutions
  • Develop and continually improve as required all site-based QMS procedures and documentation
  • Initiate and manage non-conformances and quality escapes to completion
  • Perform and support process and quality system audits to ensure system conformance
  • Coordinate the continual improvement process (CAPA) facilitating structured problem solving within the corrective and preventive action processes within the Quality Department and to support Production Operations
  • Coordinate, administer, and improve the quality system to maintain compliance with internal, industry and customer quality standards
  • Manage the Quality Control Supervisors, assign deadline-based targets embedded within the productions mills, including annual projects
  • Manage implementation of annual quality-based improvement targets
  • Communicate quality objectives and their status to the larger employee audience
  • Initiate, manage and track the Management of Change (MOC) process as required



 



Job Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science (Chemistry) or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience working with quality management system, project management experience an asset
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience leading a team and overseeing work
  • Knowledge of industrial environments, including Steel and Tubular product processes, an asset
  • Experience facilitating and solving quality problems bringing in ideas and buy-in from interdepartmental groups
  • Experience developing, reporting and presenting ideas and projects to various levels of management and customers
  • Strong ability to work and manage deadlines in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Ability to use analytical skills to troubleshoot and develop appropriate, innovative, solutions for complicated situations geared to strict standards
  • Trained and certified in quality auditing
  • Demonstrated experience implementing excel and/or Minitab for statistical purposes
  • Sophisticated communication and technical writing skills, including the ability to develop and present PowerPoint presentations
  • Six-sigma green belt or higher qualifications, an asset
