Job Description and Responsibilities

 

We are seeking a Quality Systems Manager to join our team of Quality Assurance professionals.  In this role you will facilitate the improvement of quality system processes in the areas of Measure and Test Equipment (MTE), Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) and supplier development. Additionally, the successful candidate will manage the implementation of a Quality Management Software project designed to integrate document and records management, MTE systems, CAPA management and employee training solutions from a systems perspective. This role is based at our Calgary Sales office and reports to the Director, Technical Sales.

  • Build a Tubular Products Group (TPG) supplier development system which actively engages our key suppliers driving product and process improvement
  • Roll-out and continually improve an integrated eQMS management software package including the document and records management, MTE management and CAPA solutions
  • Perform and assist facilitation of periodic process and quality system audits to ensure system conformance. As well participate in TPG internal, external and supplier quality audit functions
  • Coordinate and continually improve the continual improvement process (CAPA) facilitating structured problem solving within the corrective and preventive action processes
  • Assist coordinating the divisional quality systems to maintain compliance with quality standards

 

 



 



Job Requirements

 

  • Minimum 10 years in the quality systems industry with at least 5 years in a leadership position
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
  • 5 years' experience as a manager including management of least 5 individuals, preference for 5+ years' experience
  • Experience facilitating and solving quality problems (8D and Root Cause Analysis, etc.) bringing in ideas and buy-in from interdepartmental groups
  • Experience developing, reporting and presenting ideas and projects to various levels of management and customers
  • Attention to detail and strong ability to manage completing priorities
  • Trained and certified in quality auditing
  • Proficient with MS Office suite of programs
  • Excellent communication, time management and report writing skills
  • Good knowledge of steel processes and tubular products, an asset
  • Six-sigma green belt or better qualifications, an asset
