Job Description and Responsibilities

The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for providing oversight to the inspection functions, Visual and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and manage crew scheduling and staffing.  Incumbents will ensure that product flow is maintained by providing adequate resources to inspection stations, alerting upstream stations and production personnel to product quality concern promptly and is expected to work collaboratively to implement effective corrective actions. This is a minimally supervised position with independent decision

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ordering, receiving and maintaining a necessary inventory of inspection-related supplies
  • Ensuring inspection equipment is calibrated, verified according to proper frequencies, and is properly maintained
  • Ensuring that quality control reporting and records are completed in all areas in a timely fashion (typically on a per shift basis).
  • Reviewing quality reports in each inspection area and provide guidance to the inspection personnel concerning inspection setups, poor trends in the inspection data, or improvements in techniques as required.
  • Developing recommendations concerning reactions to problems with inspection data and work with the operating department to limit the manufacturing of non-compliant product in each production area.
  • Working with management to develop/improve written inspection procedures, as needed.
  • Participating, as needed, in quality improvement projects including following trials, analyzing results, collecting shop floor data, etc.
  • Supervise, manage and support a crew of hourly employees through creating schedules; responding to inquiries; reviewing, updating and conveying procedures and instructions; and providing training



Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent or Associates Degree with Quality Assurance experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent planning, time management, and organizational skills,
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills
  • Strong problem-solving and proven decision making skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of organization and communicate professionally
  • Ability to work in team environment with proven interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter with initiative to identify areas of improvement and propose and initiate solutions
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties
  • Ability to pass Visual Acuity testing

 

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree in technical discipline
  • Previous experience in a heavy industrial environment
