Quality Assurance Manager

At EVRAZ North America, we manufacture engineered steel products for rail, energy and industrial end markets at six production sites located in the USA (Portland, Oregon; Pueblo, Colorado) and Canada (Regina, Saskatchewan; Calgary, Camrose and Red Deer, Alberta). We are the largest North American producer by volume in the rail and large diameter pipe markets, and we hold leading positions in the Western Canada oil country tubular goods, small diameter pipe and West Coast plate markets.

 

 



Job Description and Responsibilities

 

We are currently looking for a Quality Assurance Manager at our Regina location. The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for all Quality Assurance activities in our tubular facility. The successful candidate will have experience analyzing data, writing technical reports, identifying next steps and presenting key results to multiple stakeholders. Success in this role requires a strong ability to work with interdepartmental teams and all levels of management. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System
  • Create new Quality Assurance procedures as required
  • Develop and implement effective corrective actions for internal concerns and customer complaints
  • Conduct analysis and action on supplier and production KPIs for continual improvement
  • Qualification of key suppliers and management of their quality
  • Interpret and communicate industry or customer standards/specifications to inspection and operations personnel
  • Oversee NDT and inspection practices and procedures
  • Manage product testing and certification
  • Participate in internal and external audit teams



 



Job Requirements

 

  • University degree in materials/metallurgical, industrial or mechanical engineering, or a technical degree with specific experience
  • 5 or more years’ experience as a manager with at least 5 direct reports
  • Strong preference for knowledge of pipe and /or steel mill processes and operations
  • Knowledge of industry standards including; API & CSA tubular product, ASME or API welding, and ASTM mechanical and NDE testing
  • Understanding of ISO quality standards and quality management systems
  • Trained and certified in quality auditing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work effectively with hourly and management ranks
  • Six sigma green or black belt, preferred
