Job Description and Responsibilities

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Project Director to join our growing team.  This position will oversee and manage the execution of large industrial projects in areas that include steel rolling and steel making across our North American assets. This is a leadership role that will be responsible for recruiting and developing the project teams and for delivering the defined technical objectives for the projects assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver the project technical performance results as stated in the project business case while maintaining schedule, cost, scope, and safety
  • Develop and execute stakeholder management and communications plans
  • Manage process design and equipment selection activities
  • Provide expertise to develop the project contracting strategy
  • Direct construction management activities
  • Identify and recruit needed talent to deliver a successful project
  • Ensure that effective processes are in-place for managing contractor communications and engineering interfaces
  • Establish world class project planning, costing, control, and reporting methodologies
  • Lead the project and operating teams through planning, execution and commissioning of new production assets
  • Prepare operations and maintenance plans post commissioning



Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Successful track record managing industrial construction projects with overall project cost of at least $300M
  • Undergrad degree in engineering, metallurgy or other science degree or equivalent experience providing leadership to and managing the performance of a project team of 20 or more people
  • PMP or CII certifications desired
  • Be able to travel internationally up to 25% of the time
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Desirable experience in managing a steel rolling operation, quality systems, or lean manufacturing
