Job Description and Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a Project Construction Scheduler / Planner to join our growing team in Pueblo, Colorado. Rated as one of the best places to live, Pueblo is located at the confluence of the Arkansas River and Fountain Creek – just south of Colorado Springs.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Project Construction Scheduler / Planner include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop the master project schedule (engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning). Integrate Supplier project schedule submittals into master schedule. Review critical path, lag relationships, constraints, and milestones.
  • Track all project issues as they relate to the master schedule.
  • Walk the site and check on the contractor’s weekly schedule progress.
  • Interface with other Supplier Groups to provide scheduling data for change order requests, bid comparisons, and resolving schedule problems. Must perform detail schedule variance analysis. Develop and maintain project metrics (progress curves, labor histograms, etc.).
  • Provide weekly/monthly summary reports to project management.
  • Perform additional assignments at direction of site project leadership.



Job Requirements

  • BS/BA Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent field experience.
  • Minimum of 5-years’ experience in construction scheduling, preferably with large industrial projects.
  • Hands-on proficiency in Primavera Project Planner (P6) required. Experience with Excel, MS Project, and Word also needed.
  • Experience and demonstrated understanding of concepts and products developed by the project management tool, i.e.: resource charts, pert charts, Gantt charts, concepts of float, schedule status, revisions, etc.
  • Must have experience working with resource loading schedules, contractor generated baseline schedules, time impact analyses, and earned value management reporting.
  • Must have a working knowledge of how to read engineering / construction drawings.
  • Must understand how project and Supplier work-scopes are actually sequenced and constructed.
  • Ability to convert schedules from one format to another (P6 to Microsoft Project).
  • Possess excellent schedule analysis, trouble shooting, and forecasting skills. Experience and ability to consolidate independently generated project data effectively with Construction Coordinators on cross-functional teams.
  • Able to coordinate multiple work schedules (i.e. the 5 day 8 hour, 4 day 10 hour, 9 day 80 hour, and other work schedules as applicable); Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Additional knowledge in databases a plus
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and be a team player.
  • Skills: Critical Path Method (CPM), Project Management, Field Operations, Scheduling, MS Office, OSHA, Power industry experience in Construction is required Individual to be based at an office but weekly or bi-monthly trips to some sites may be required.
