Job Description and Responsibilities

We are seeking a Production Supervisor to join the Rail Mill team located in Pueblo, Colorado.  As a Production Supervisor you will be responsible for all day to day manufacturing and quality operations in the Rail Mill. This position is accountable to the Rail Mill General Supervisor of Production.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily mill inspections with an eye for safety and productivity issues, coordinate with mill support groups to design and implement countermeasures
  • Conduct shift safety meetings, train employees on safe work practices, and conduct daily safe job observations
  • Conduct daily tool box talks with mill operators
  • Use LEAN tools from the Evraz Business System engage employees to continuously improve mill operations
  • Schedule and maintain shift manpower for mill operations and training
  • Responsible for managing an operational team, quality team, and maintenance support staff, during manufacturing operations and while performing operational maintenance of mechanical equipment including; hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Conduct performance evaluations for probationary employees
  • Supervise the Quality Assurance Inspectors
  • Use quality standards to evaluate product conformance and troubleshoot quality issues in a timely manner
  • Manage, organize, and inventory mill parts and tooling
  • Maintain necessary inventory of mill supplies, interface with storehouse and vendors as needed for resupply and trials
  • Maintain and correct electronic and written records including; shift performance, heat traceability, and quality assurance
  • Maintain KRONOS Pay System by reviewing, editing, and approving employee time cards daily
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of the collective bargaining agreements and applicable company policies
  • Write and issue Improvement Action Reports (IARs) as needed per company policy
  • Process and document grievances as the first step in the grievance resolution process.
  • This position may be required to cross train into other supervisory roles within the Rail Department



Job Requirements

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science Degree or equivalent experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word and Excel
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills,
  • Excellent planning, time management, and organizational skills
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills
  • Strong problem-solving and proven decision making skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of our organization and communicate professionally
  • Must have ability to work in a team environment with proven interpersonal skills
  • Initiative to identify areas, propose and initiate solutions
  • Ability to multitask
  • Five years experience supervising a rolling mill operation, preferred
