Job Description and Responsibilities

We are seeking a Production Supervisor to join our new, state of the art API Threadline facility located in Pueblo, Colorado.  As a Production Supervisor you will be responsible for the safety, productivity and quality of the Threadline.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all thread line machinery, mobile equipment and associated facilities are safely and effectively operated and maintained to the highest standards to fulfill safety, production and quality requirements
  • Must passionately follow and establish health and safety practices
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate the production activities required to produce seamless OCTG threaded pipe products that meet or exceed all applicable API standards
  • Ensure production meets output and quality goals while remaining within budget
  • Responsible for generating/implementing methods to make the production process more efficient
  • Coordinate operating personnel, maintenance and company resources to best meet production goals
  • Monitor product conformance to standards and implement API quality control programs
  • Analyze production data and write/review relevant reports
  • Prepare and ensure implementation of the relevant API/ISO and customer requirements in all processes during production
  • Perform daily process inspections with emphasis on safety and productivity issues, coordinate with support groups to design and implement countermeasures
  • Possession of basic operation skills/knowledge of the following machines, tools, and equipment:
    • PMC Thread Machine (CNC) and PMC Buck On Machine
    • Automated and manual pipe quality verification equipment
    • API gauge use
    • UV coating
    • Weigh, measure, stamp and stencil machines
    • Robotic thread protector and coupling de-palletizing machines
    • Radio, forklifts, Pettibones
  • Conduct shift safety meetings, train employees on safe work practices, conduct daily safe job observations and daily tool box talks with mill operators
  • Use LEAN tools from the Evraz Business System
  • Use Statistical Process Control concepts to ensure product continuously conforms to all applicable standards
  • Engage employees to continuously improve mill operations
  • Schedule and maintain shift manpower for operations and training
  • Conduct performance evaluations for probationary employees
  • Maintain necessary inventory of threading supplies, interface with storehouse and vendors as needed for resupply and trials
  • Maintain and correct electronic and written records including; shift performance, pipe traceability, and quality assurance
  • Maintain KRONOS Pay System by reviewing, editing, and approving employee time cards daily
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of the collective bargaining agreements and applicable company policies
  • Write and issue Improvement Action Reports (IARs) as needed per company policy
  • Process and document grievances as the first step in the grievance resolution process



Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science Degree or equivalent experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of CNC threading and related machinery for OCTG products such as: BTC, LTC, and STC Threads and couplings
  • Understanding of governing quality specifications (API 5CT, API 5B)
  • Knowledge of different types and grades of OCTG pipe
  • The ability to compromise, persuade, and negotiate
  • Must be well rounded, and must continually keep well-versed of new production technologies and supervisory practices
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent planning, time management, and organizational skills
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills
  • Strong problem-solving and proven decision making skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of our organization and communicate professionally
  • Must have ability to work in a team environment with proven interpersonal skills
  • Initiative to identify areas, propose and initiate solutions
  • Ability to multitask
