Job Description and Responsibilities

We are seeking Production Supervisor to direct and manage a Production Team in the safe manufacture and shipment of steel Rod and Bar Products.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily mill inspections with an eye for safety, quality, and productivity issues, coordinate with mill support groups to design and implement countermeasures
  • Conduct weekly safety meetings, train employees on safe work practices, and conduct daily safe job observations
  • Conduct daily tool box talks with mill operators
  • Use LEAN tools from the Evraz Business System engage employees to continuously improve mill operations
  • Schedule and maintain shift manpower for mill operations and training
  • Conduct performance evaluations for probationary employees
  • Use quality standards to evaluate product conformance and troubleshoot quality issues in a timely manner
  • Maintain necessary inventory of mill supplies, interface with storehouse and vendors as needed for resupply and trials
  • Maintain and correct electronic and written records including: mobile equipment reports, shift performance, heat traceability, and quality assurance
  • Maintain KRONOS Pay System by reviewing, editing, and approving employee time cards daily
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of the collective bargaining agreements and applicable company policies
  • Write and issue Improvement Action Reports (IARs) as needed per company policy
  • Process and document grievances as the first step in the grievance resolution process
  • Quickly learn Evraz specific software packages



Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 3 – 5 Years Rolling Mill Experience
  • Ability to Organize and Motivate a Production Team for High Quality Results and Maximum Productivity
  • Ability to Professionally Communicate with and Supervise Non-Management Employees
  • 6S training
  • Proven Safety Track Record

Preferred Experience and Education:

  • Five years of Rod / Bar Mill Rolling Experience
  • Ability to quantify safety track record and leadership skills
  • Bachelors or Associates Degree in a Technical Field
  • Knowledge of Roll Stand and Guide Building, Rolling Process Troubleshooting, and Material Flow Logistics 
  • High Mechanical Aptitude
  • Five Years of Supervisory or Leadman Experience
