Job Description and Responsibilities

We are seeking a Production Planner to join our growing team at our plant located in Pueblo, Colorado.  The Production Planner will be responsible for planning, scheduling and control activities. 

Responsibilities:

  • Planning, scheduling, and monitoring of production using the Sales Order system in Oracle and SQIS
  • Ordering semi-finished rounds for rolling production requirements.
  • Receiving and scheduling movements of semi-finished squares from outside sources
  • Inventory maintenance and control for semi-finished rounds and squares.
  • Daily reconciling of rolling and finishing production including monthly reconciling of shipments and inventories
  • Creation and maintenance of product process sheets
  • Forecasting and coordinating all aspects of rolling schedule and production from semi-finished availability to shipping of finished product
  • Supervising and training the Senior Schedule Clerk with maintaining and distributing process sheets, receiving and entering purchased billets, entering purchased billet chemistries in SQIS and making inventory adjustments in 11i
  • Communicate semi-finished needs to Manager PPC for casting schedule.
  • Maintain billet inventory and appropriate billets to fill order needs by rod size
  • Record all heats cast or received
  • Reconcile caster production and daily charge and production
  • Send out daily reporting of rolling sequence and order book status to sales, operations, maintenance, met lab, shipping
  • Prepare Level 2 furnace schedule (heat line-up) in SQIS
  • Issue process sheets to the mill
  • Ability to work effectively under minimal supervision
  • Communicate with Steelmaking, Sales, Rod Mill, Accounting, and Quality to provide daily, weekly, and monthly planning of the production schedule
  • Some exposure to adverse environmental conditions



Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; Four year technical degree or equivalent preferred
  • Experience in inventory control
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 
  • Proficient in Oracle based systems to include two years of experience with Oracle inventory and production modules
