Job Description and Responsibilities

We are seeking a Product Technology Intern to join our Pueblo, Colorado team for the summer of 2018.  This individual will learn how to operate in a real mill setting and interact with plant personnel, as well as external suppliers and contractors.  



Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist Product Technology and Metallurgical staff with the coordination and/or preparation of samples for metallurgical evaluation as well as data entry
  • Sample acquisition and documentation along with cutting, grinding, polishing, machining, labeling, and etching 
  • Perform data input, statistical analysis, and other duties as directed by Product Technology staff



Job Requirements



Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 year technical degree or entering 3rd year in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Equivalent.
  • Preferred Experience in Engineering, Statistics, NDT and/or technical organization.
  • Auxiliary experience to include familiarity with mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge and experience in the efficient and safe use and operation of equipment and chemicals used in performing metallurgical destructive and nondestructive evaluations.
  • Must demonstrate capability in maintaining and performing first line calibration of laboratory and non-destructive test equipment.
  • Must demonstrate computer operation efficiency and be familiar with PC based operating systems: Word, Excel, Power Point, ACAD, Inventor or Solidworks, etc
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Positive attitude

Preferred Experience and Education:

  • Experience in manufacturing and basic knowledge of machining
  • Proven ability to organize and motivate teams for safe, high-quality results and maximum productivity
  • Proven ability to professionally motivate and engage employees

Anticipated Dates: May-August 2018, following completion of Spring Semester
