Job Description and Responsibilities

 

EVRAZ NA is seeking a Product Engineering Specialist at our Regina facility. As a member of the tubular research premium connection group you will support the design, testing and the manufacturing of EVRAZ’s family of premium and semi-premium connections. Working closely with multiple EVRAZ manufacturing and third party facilities, this role supports new product development from concept to creating production prototypes through internal and external testing phases and manufacturing.

  • Support the premium connection technical, manufacturing and performance testing activities
  • Create and maintain three dimensional models and drawings
  • Work with suppliers, quality control and engineering to release drawings
  • Interface with EVRAZ divisions such as the Calgary Works API line and the Red Deer Premium Connection line
  • Support EVRAZ approved third party threading facilities
  • Provide hands on support to build prototypes and conduct product testing
  • Create detailed models and drawings of both mechanical and electrical test fixtures and sub components as needed for testing premium connections to established or emerging standards
  • Oversee manufacturing and application of equipment
  • Perform maintenance work and annual calibration of equipment
  • Create testing protocols and software to using data acquisition development packages such as National Instruments LabView
  • Carry out internal PC test programs utilizing EVRAZ Research’s connection test equipment
  • Support third party connection prototype manufacturing and testing



 



Job Requirements

 

  • Minimum of a diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of relevant design experience
  • Knowledge of engineering principles including statics and strength of materials
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D development software
  • Experience in producing parts drawings for manufacturing as well as document/revision control
  • Familiar with manufacturing, specifically connection threading or similar operations
  • Understanding of materials used in the oil and gas industry
  • Experience with controls and data acquisition development and implementation
  • Proficiency with LabView/Measurement Studio
  • Valid passport and eligible to travel from Canada to the United States
