We are the largest North American producer by volume in the rail and large diameter pipe markets, and we hold leading positions in the Western Canada oil country tubular goods, small diameter pipe and West Coast plate markets.

 

 



Job Description and Responsibilities

 

EVRAZ NA is seeking a Process Improvement Director at our Regina facility. This role has accountability for performance improvement and operational effectiveness for all manufacturing activities in Regina. This role will lead the implementation of continuous improvement and manufacturing engineering systems and priorities for Regina Operations. The successful candidate will support senior site leaders in the development and implementation of a strategic deployment plan to increase operational performance across the business and work to engage the workforce in the delivery of the plan objectives. This role reports to the VP of Steel and Tubular Operations, Regina.

 

  • Lead the planning for development of performance improvement plans and collaborates with operational leaders to establish goals linked to the performance plans
  • Provide leadership for performance improvement program for operating excellence initiatives with the goal of outcome improvements and building operational improvement capabilities
  • Problem-solve to resolve key issues and generate innovative solutions for operational success
  • Foster a culture of shared ownership for outcomes-driven improvement
  • Provide leadership for design and implementation of an effective and ongoing program to monitor, evaluate and improve safety, quality, cost effectiveness and productivity
  • Partner with operational, quality and engineering teams to identify opportunities for greater organizational efficiency and process improvement
  • Drive lean improvement initiatives in collaboration with leadership partners related to waste and/or cost reduction, improved inter department collaboration, safety and risk management
  • Provide hands-on support and coaching to operational leaders serving as a change agent and champion to drive organizational transformation in alignment with strategy and vision
  • Drive employee engagement strategies to produce a positive culture that demonstrates the EVRAZ North America Core Values



 



Job Requirements

 

  • 10-15 years’ progressive leadership experience in a steel manufacturing environment
  • Master’s degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering
  • Significant experience with operational effectiveness principles, lean/six sigma
  • Strong influencing skills and the capacity to collaborate with stakeholders at every level
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to communicate succinctly and effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Experience building high performing teams in a unionized environment
  • Proven background in change management with the ability to drive growth in a complex industrial environment
