Job Description and Responsibilities

 

The Postdoctoral Research Associate is a temporary position that supports our Regina based Research and Development (R&D) facility.  This role conducts research activities such as planning and leading projects as well as providing support for various R&D projects.  The Postdoctoral Research Associate will work under the direction of the R&D Centre Program Managers and report to the Program Manager, Line Pipe.

 

  • Plan and lead research projects under the supervision of the R&D program managers
  • Design and coordinate trials/testing both internally within EVRAZ and externally, obtain samples/data/results and perform analysis
  • Perform laboratory experiments and analysis
  • Provide technical support to R&D projects as determined by the program managers
  • Communicate results through written reports and presentations that include recommendations for further actions



 



Job Requirements

 

  • Must have a Ph.D. in an engineering discipline related to EVRAZ activities
  • Experience in performing laboratory work relevant to EVRAZ research activities
  • General knowledge of steelmaking, hot rolling and heat treating practices, preferred
  • Must be proficient in verbal and written English with strong technical writing skills
  • Experience with statistical experimental design and analysis, preferred
  • Must be willing to conduct assigned duties in emergency response drills and situations as per the H2S corrosion laboratory safety protocols, male candidates must be clean shaven to meet safety standards
