Job Description and Responsibilities

EVRAZ North America is looking for Plant Controller who brings strong problem solving skills and work ethics to our team. Based in Portland, this position leads the accounting team and is a key member of the business unit (BU) and the North American Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) group. We are looking for an individual who brings leadership to the team, takes charge for their professional career and creates opportunities for advancement by brining value to the BU accounting, finance and operations teams. This position reports the Director, Finance, Portland BU.

  • Execute the accounting close process, including review and approval of journal entries and reconciliations, and analysis and of BU financial results
  • Report BU financial results, including balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows, and BU operational financial and non-financial metrics
  • Responsible for all aspects of inventory and cost accounting
  • Deliver clean interim and year-end financial reviews and audits
  • Implementing and applying effective internal controls
  • Responsible for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable management
  • Support completion of quarterly and year-end financial disclosures
  • Assist with forecasting and budgeting of the Portland BU
  • Support the North America Finance team and BU on cross functional projects with ad hoc requests, special business-related studies and financial analysis



Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA designation
  • Minimum five (5) years of related experience, preference given to candidates with experience in the manufacturing industry, publicly traded company environment and/or strong inventory accounting background
  • Minimum of two (2) years of public accounting experience
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite and experience with Oracle; Hyperion cloud-based solutions, preferred
  • Working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), preferred
  • Merger and Acquisition (M&A) experience, preferred
