Job Description and Responsibilities

 

EVRAZ is seeking a Planning Analyst to join our Regina team. This role collaborates with sales, operations, shipping, technical services, finance and other downstream processes to complete the production planning and scheduling of small and large diameter mills from steel ordering to pipe delivery.  In addition, the planning analyst will support our Senior Planning team with project and commodity customers. The planner will support demand and supply scenario planning including material requirement management to ensure customer requirements are met. The planner will align demand with production planning throughout the fulfillment cycle, working closely with internal departments to gather and prioritize product and customer requirements. Overall, the planning analyst will learn the various systems, processes and facilities supporting our Senior Planning team with the goal to grow into planning a mill exclusively.

  • Set up manufacturing orders, expedite requirements/information for setting up orders in our internal system, support workflow process for bidding projects
  • Monitor production of customer orders through plant processes
  • Create customer schedules with help of Senior Planner/Schedulers
  • Develop process documentation for various systems/workflows
  • Support monthly planning cycle for projecting sales and developing baseline plans (Sales and Operations Planning)
  • Provide regular updates on production and mill availability with management group
  • Help adjust day to day production schedule based on changes in customer requirements, production limitations and raw material availability
  • Support Planning and inside sales team in Calgary
  • Manage and generate reports on raw material, work in progress and finished goods inventory
  • Manage and review planning reports for key performance indicators
  • Attend the forecast meetings and understand drivers, challenge assumptions and lead the team to agreement on the total demand plan
  • Order raw material and closely coordinate customer plans with supply planning
  • Perform other essential duties as assigned by supervisor or defined by company objectives
  • Monitor, manage and accurately report the forecast for physical inventory levels



 



Job Requirements

 

  • Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Operations, Supply Chain or other related field
  • 2+ years related experience in a production/demand/supply/supply chain planning role in a manufacturing environment, preferably in tubular products and/or steel mill operations
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, develop and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
  • Positive attitude
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
  • Effective conflict resolution and/or mediation skills
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products and ability to learn various in-house computer software
