City: Winnipeg / State: Manitoba                                                   


At EVRAZ North America, we manufacture engineered steel products for rail, energy and industrial end markets at six production sites located in the USA (Portland, Oregon; Pueblo, Colorado) and Canada (Regina, Saskatchewan; Calgary, Camrose and Red Deer, Alberta). We are the largest North American producer by volume in the rail and large diameter pipe markets, and we hold leading positions in the Western Canada oil country tubular goods, small diameter pipe and West Coast plate markets.

 

 



Job Description and Responsibilities

 

We are the largest scrap metal recycler in Western Canada and also have three facilities in the United States. We buy, sell and process ferrous and non-ferrous materials and offer a wide variety of metal recycling options. We work with the public and scrap dealers to maximize their return and minimize their hassle.

 

  • Mechanically inclined. Capable of troubleshooting and performing light mechanical repairs, identifying any major repairs. (Common knowledge of equipment)
  • Perform preventive maintenance, keep equipment tidy
  • Loading and unloading of various ferrous and non-ferrous metals
  • Observe/Practice all company safety rules and policies
  • Operate heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life
  • Ensures tools & equipment are constantly kept in a safe, operational condition
  • Reporting any incidents, accidents, injures, or property damage
  • Responsible to execute Pre/Post use shift inspections of equipment
  • Excellent oral communication, good judgement and reliability are a must
  • Ability to operate equipment in tight spaces
  • Punctual and available to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • When not operating equipment will be processing material for quality and shipping.
  • Equipment to be operated Skid Steer, Hydraulic crane, Forklift and hydraulic baler.
  • Small Power tool operation (Cut Off Saw, Power drill, Pressure Washer)



 



Job Requirements

 

 

  • High School Minimum or equivalent
  • 1 – 2 years will be an asset
  • Ability to work in various temperatures
  • Physically capable without restrictions to complete repetitive tasks
