Job Description and Responsibilities

Inspect, troubleshoot, program and operate CNC grinder and perform preventative maintenance as necessary.  Grind rolls within established tolerances and specifications and perform scheduled breakdown and build-up of work and back-up chocks, using proper procedures and adjustments.  Perform routine mechanical and welding repairs on Roll Shop and Four High equipment: chocks, bearings, stripper bars, hydraulics, and cranes.  Operate overhead radio-controlled crane as needed. Operate mobile equipment: manlift, forklift, and crane.  Perform safety inspections on all shop equipment.  Keep accurate and legible records.  Perform proper lubrication and fluid checks and fill levels as needed.  Maintain a clean safe work area and steam clean equipment as required.



Job Requirements

  • Qualified to operate and program a CNC machine
  • Services and repairs to all overhead cranes
  • Mobile equipment trained
  • Able to read precision measuring equipment (Mic’s, Crack Detection, Pi-Tape)
  • Able to work independently and be self-directed
  • Able to meet physical demands of the position
  • Knowledge of rigging procedures
  • Willingness to learn and accept changes in job duties
  • Willing and able to work flexible shifts and overtime hours

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience operating and programming a Waldrich-Siegen Roll Grinder.
  • Experience operating and programming a CNC machine with machinist background.
