Job Description and Responsibilities

The Manager of PMO manages the daily activities of a PMO office that provides oversight of a multi-million dollar project portfolio spanning capital investments, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.

This is a high visibility cross-functional role reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy and will frequently interface with the C-suite, sales, marketing, and operations, product development, finance, and divisional project managers. The successful candidate should be poised, have excellent communication skills, and be able to influence a diverse set of stake holders of varied national origins. This position will frequently represent the North American operating companies at EVRAZ International Investment Committees. 

  • Assist project teams in achieving stated project outcomes in a cost effective and timely manner
  • Oversee the project management office ensuring timely and accurate reporting
  • Manage monthly Investment Committee meetings ensuring agenda, materials, and minutes are distributed on a timely fashion
  • Provide thought leadership and assistance to business teams in developing strategic rationale and investment business cases
  • Provide leadership for the continuous improvement of the PMO system
  • Other projects as assigned



Job Requirements

  • Experience with construction process flow and equipment installation in heavy industrial settings strongly preferred
  • Experience with project management techniques and ability to train other people in the use of project management techniques a plus
  • Strong analytical and structured problem solving skills
  • Solid financial acumen
  • Ability to organize unstructured information into clear and persuasive communications (both written and orally) that enable decision making
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business; MBA strongly preferred
  • Proficient in the use of Excel, Power Point, and MS Project
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, possess a valid passport and eligible to travel internationally
