Job Description and Responsibilities

We are currently looking for an effective, knowledgeable, and committed Product Resource Management Manager to oversee and conduct data analysis to improve our supply chain operations. This is a critical role in our organization, charged with increasing efficiency and reducing costs. Our ideal candidate will have a highly analytical mind and a strong business acumen directed toward a commitment to optimization and efficiency.  This role reports to the Senior Director of PRM for North America.

 

  • Manage the development of sales, shipment and production plans of steel mills across Canada and US. This includes:
    • Plans raw material procurement, production and shipment of finished goods
    • Estimates available production capacities and utilization of manufacturing assets
    • Evaluates raw material needs and stock levels
    • Performs detailed calendar planning
  • Work with the Sourcing Manager to analyze sources of raw materials, internal production chains and makes recommendations to the Senior Director PRM that maximize marginal income
  • Track KPIs and generate reports detailing supply chain performance:
    • Analyze, optimize, and oversee inventory planning and control procedures
    • Track operational efficiencies and utilizations
    • Track and report - On Time In Full (OTIF) performance
    • Work with IT to implement efficient reporting systems that include Business Intelligence tools
  • Monitor plan realization, analyze and assess risks to implement the plans
  • Create consolidated reports on realization of plans by manufacturing location



Job Requirements

 

  • The ideal candidate will be a process oriented, persuasive and capable of maintaining accuracy and functionality in a fast paced environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations management, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations management
  • Proficient in managing and analyzing various levels of supply chain processes (e.g., capacity planning, raw material planning, inventory planning, shipping and logistics)
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Aptitude for problem solving and troubleshooting
  • Comfort dealing with ambiguity
  • Experience dealing with global operations is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to deal with opposing opinions and effect in reaching a compromise
  • Computer proficient with experience in spreadsheets, word processing (preferably Microsoft Office)
