Job Description and Responsibilities

 

We are seeking a Electrical Maintenance Supervisor to lead our team of maintenance professionals that focus on the electrical equipment and automation across our Regina tubular facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and planning all electrical maintenance related activities, have an in-depth knowledge of power distribution and control systems, excellent troubleshooting abilities and strong leadership abilities. This role reports to the Electrical General Supervisor.

  • Supervise, schedule and allocate work to assigned team
  • Proactively work to reduce safety risks while creating a safety first culture
  • Manage attendance and adherence to working hours and approve overtime hours for their assigned work group
  • Drive efficiency improvements by analyzing plant operations and reviewing key metrics
  • Drive operational excellence in the areas of safety, quality, delivery and cost
  • Ensure the quality of the work performed by their assigned work group as well as external contractors
  • Create, plan and prioritize corrective work orders
  • Act as primary point of contact for Operations on electrical maintenance issues
  • Collaborate with the Asset Maintenance Coordinator and Operations about planned maintenance activities
  • Effectively manage a team of 10-12 unionized and technical employees with a “boots on the ground” approach
  • Drive employee engagement strategies to produce a positive culture that demonstrates the EVRAZ’s core values

 



 



Job Requirements

 

  • Electrical credential, either Electrical Engineering degree with P. Eng registration, or an Applied Science Technologist in Electrical, or a Journeyperson Electrician; with maintenance experience of 3-5+ years
  • Preference will be given to candidates with 5-10 years of experience as a Maintenance Supervisor
  • Management experience in a unionized environment, experience leading teams of 10+ technical trades and technologists
  • Must be proficient in blueprint and schematics reading
  • Excellent electrical equipment troubleshooting skills
  • Understanding and knowledge of lean manufacturing principles would be considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with programming and troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems (Allen-Bradley and Siemens S7)
  • In depth knowledge of high voltage systems
  • Experience with Low Voltage Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) and motors
  • Knowledge of the CEC and approved wiring methods
  • Experience with troubleshooting automated systems such as conveyors, hydraulic systems, automatic welding systems, and measurement systems
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
