City: Chicago / State: Illinois

Job Description and Responsibilities

EVRAZ NA currently seeks a Internal Control and Compliance Manager to join our growing team at our Headquarters office located in Downtown Chicago!

The Manager of Internal Controls and Compliance will be responsible for overseeing the Company’s control environment. In addition, the Manager of Controls and Compliance will play a key role in executing a number of projects and initiatives aimed at redefining policies, procedures and processes across the finance organization. This role will have ongoing interaction with individuals and teams across all levels of the organization.

  • Manages the overall compliance program through program execution, testing, reporting, monitoring and training
  • Makes recommendations to enhance business processes and identifies opportunities to improve operational efficiencies
  • Provides guidance to cross-functional leadership on remediation plans
  • Develops relationships with internal and external audit partners and support the internal and external audit processes
  • Develops and manages new and existing Finance policies
  • Evaluates and monitors process to collaborate on improvements and ensure alignment with policies
  • Conducts the annual risk assessment process for US and Canadian operations
  • Performs other duties as requested



Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance 
  • Minimum of 5 years of audit or controls experience in the manufacturing or retail industry 
  • Demonstrated exceptional written communication skills required. Experience in writing policies and/ or Standard Operating Procedures preferred
  • CIA or CPA is strongly preferred
  • Proficient in Excel; Access and data query tools exposure a plus
  • ERP experience, Oracle experience preferred
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills; including the ability to present effectively to senior executives
  • Ability to see the broad implications of situations, business processes and controls issues, as well as understand the details
  • Ability to identify critical needs and develop workable recommendations
  • Strong project management skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Able to excel within a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
