Job Description and Responsibilities

EVRAZ NA is currently seeking an Instrumentation Technician/ Environmental Engineer I to join our growing team in Pueblo, Colorado. Rated as one of the best places to live, Pueblo is located at the confluence of the Arkansas River and Fountain Creek - just 30 miles south of Colorado Springs.

Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Use knowledge of environmental air monitoring instrumentation and stack testing experience to ensure daily operation of air and emission systems.
  • Ensure the daily operational uptime of all Ambient and Continuous Air Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMs).
  • Oversee the repair and maintenance of all air sampling equipment.
  • Monitor of instrument health in order to maximize air monitoring up time.
  • Assist in the selection of stack testing contractors, field oversight of stack testers, development of stack testing protocols, interaction with air sampling equipment manufacturers.
  • Order and install calibration gases.
  • Daily instrument calibration and collect stored data.
  • Create air monitory reports.
  • Collect water samples and assist with system operation and maintenance.
  • Interact with the CDPHE as needed.
  • Assist with Environmental Department needs during staff vacations and incidents.
  • Work proactively with all EVRAZ operations and maintenance personnel to ensure compliance with all air permit monitoring requirements.

 



Job Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Electronics and/or Instrumentation preferred; High School Diploma required.
  • Instrumentation repair and instrumentation analysis experience required.
  • Stack testing experience required.
  • General understanding of PLCs and instrumentation trouble shooting and repair
  • Ability to read electrical blue prints.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products Excel and Word.
  • Ability to write a concise report for Regulatory Agencies.
  • Proven teamwork, communication (oral and written), administrative and organizational skills.
  • EPA Method 9 Certified preferred.
  • DOT Haz-Waste Shipment Certificate preferred.
  • Wastewater treatment system experience helpful.
  • This role requires working at high levels. The individual selected for this role must be willing and able to work at heights.
