Infrastructure Support Analyst

Job Description and Responsibilities

 

Work with the Network Architect to plan and perform the design, installation, and connectivity of computer systems and network infrastructure to make sure the steady operation of the organizational IT resources.

It includes developing, designing, maintaining, assisting, and adjusting all new and present network hardware, software, and communication techniques. Technician’s role is also accountable for telephone, data center, security systems and other related electronic infrastructure for business.

Technicians provide end-user PC hardware and software application trouble resolution, along with support for other IT assets onsite, such as the Local Area Network (LAN), servers and email. Technicians are responsible for the design, procurement, installation and configuration of all IT infrastructure that supports the efficient use of technology at the site. This includes power consumption, monitoring hardware, and software and disaster recovery.

Technicians respond to user requests and service desk referrals when troubleshooting computer software, hardware, peripherals or production-related equipment issues. They prioritize issues based on complexity, urgency and potential negative impact on an organization. They track and document all incidents until the issue gets resolved.

  • Network cable troubleshooting
  • Infrastructure enhancements and engineering/vendor coordination
  • UPS monitoring and vendor support coordination
  • Data Center utility support and vendor coordination



 



Job Requirements

 

  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science along with good knowledge of networking protocols and services such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and VPN
  • Minimum 3 years' experience supporting IT infrastructure preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Technical skills include experience with IT security, data centers, remote infrastructure, effective data record systems, network cabling, wireless systems, computer system architecture and cloud services
