Job Description and Responsibilities

 

Our Human Resources team is growing! We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to join to our team in a new position supporting our Recycling Division for North America.  This dynamic role will be a key stakeholder to multiple site General Managers, Supervisors and all first line leaders, as such, requires exceptional collaboration skills and a proven ability to build strong productive relationships across the business. This “boots on the ground” exceptionally tactical position provides advice, counsel and coaching on all matters relating to human capital. This role can be based in Regina, Sask or Calgary, AB.

  • Exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships with employees and members of management
  • Align HR functions, priorities and efforts to the execution of the business strategy and are customer centric
  • Develop and maintain a robust and sustainable talent pipeline around our technical positions for the facility
  • Affect cultural change to one of a collaborative environment
  • Ensure transactional basics are functioning and delivering effective and efficient services
  • Develop, manage and enhance a variety of training and development programs and other programs as assigned
  • Provide consultative support to management for the consistent and appropriate application of policies and procedures
  • Maintain the highest level of integrity, professionalism, fairness, and confidentiality in all aspects of job performance
  • Administer a range of labour relations activities including: collective agreement administration, grievance and issue management, collective bargaining, union/management relations, performance management and conflict resolution processes
  • Provide advice and direction to all levels of management on the interpretation, application and administration of the collective agreements, legislation and company policies, overseeing and ensuring consistent application
  • Conduct investigations, summarize findings, recommend and implement solutions related to formal complaints consistent with procedural requirements in the collective agreement and relevant employment legislation



 



Job Requirements

 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Human Resources Manager
  • Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, organizational development, management or a related field
  • Previous manufacturing industry experience, preferably in a heavy industrial union environment, preferred
  • Experience and comfort working in a heavy industrial mill/manufacturing environment
  • Mature, collaborative, hands on, and tactically focused leader
  • Proven ability to develop key managerial relationships with business stakeholders
  • Organized, communicative and be able to maintain confidentiality
  • Action oriented after careful thought process
  • Ability to travel throughout the United States and Canada up to 50% of the time
