City: Regina / State: Saskatchewan                                                   


At EVRAZ North America, we manufacture engineered steel products for rail, energy and industrial end markets at six production sites located in the USA (Portland, Oregon; Pueblo, Colorado) and Canada (Regina, Saskatchewan; Calgary, Camrose and Red Deer, Alberta). We are the largest North American producer by volume in the rail and large diameter pipe markets, and we hold leading positions in the Western Canada oil country tubular goods, small diameter pipe and West Coast plate markets.

 

 



Job Description and Responsibilities

 

We are seeking a Human Resources Associate to be based at our Regina Facility. Reporting to the HR Manager, this position is responsible for administration of human resources programs in a unionized environment.

 

  • Responsible for facilitating new employee orientation and the new employee onboarding process
  • Assists in the recruitment of hourly employees in Regina including screening applicants, interviewing, and offer letter preparation
  • Work with Operational Supervisors on personnel matters including evaluations and reports
  • Provide guidance on and assist with the interpretation of Company policies
  • Develop an understanding of the Collective Bargaining process and assist with interpretation of the collective agreement
  • Attendance in committees associated with business operations, employee and labour relations
  • Assists with work placements for employees returning to work
  • Other duties as assigned within the HR function in support of the business



 



Job Requirements

 

Requirements

  • University Degree in a business related discipline with preference for a major in Human Resources Management
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a human resources related role
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Continuous learner who is willing to embrace change and work in environment with a high degree of flexibility and adaptability to take on additional duties
  • CPHR designation is considered an asset for the role
