At EVRAZ North America, we manufacture engineered steel products for rail, energy and industrial end markets at six production sites located in the USA (Portland, Oregon; Pueblo, Colorado) and Canada (Regina, Saskatchewan; Calgary, Camrose and Red Deer, Alberta). We are the largest North American producer by volume in the rail and large diameter pipe markets, and we hold leading positions in the Western Canada oil country tubular goods, small diameter pipe and West Coast plate markets.

 

 



Job Description and Responsibilities

 

EVRAZ NA is currently seeking an experienced General Manager to join their team in Edmonton, Alberta. As the General Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Director of Operations in all aspects of the facility and will have day-to-day responsibility of managing the industrial performance and to meet objectives that conform to the existing plan and budgetary expectations.

  • Demonstrating operational excellence in safety, quality, delivery, cost and organizational development
  • Proactively working to reduce Health Safety & Environment risks, and promoting safe behaviors in the workplace while not impacting the environment
  • Managing objectives for operation budgets, capital plans and cost savings targets
  • Defining and implementing new directives for growth in production and quality improvements
  • Creating and maintaining manufacturing budgets and make sure that the operations remain profitable
  • Keeping current on information and technology affecting functional areas to increase innovation and ensure compliance
  • Building and managing a team of technical professionals, driving employee engagement, positive culture and execute strategic workforce planning initiatives
  • Developing a cross-functional team and a change management program to manage complex nature of business, projects and initiatives



 



Job Requirements

 

  • Minimum of a 10 year's management or leadership experience in industrial manufacturing
  • Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills
  • Solid quantitative skills to understand site financial performance and operating statistics (KPIs)
  • Must have the ability to reconcile sales, prepare reports and read technical manuals
  • Able to handle multiple priorities while performing quality work in an efficient manner with minimal supervision
  • Able to work required hours which includes weekends and holidays and also at any site as-signed within reasonable distance from home site
