Job Description and Responsibilities

East Metals North America, a part of the Vanadium division of the EVRAZ Group, resells Ferrovanadium and other vanadium products imported from Europe and Russia from vanadium producers through the trading arm of the EVRAZ Group, East Metals AG in Switzerland, into the North American, and South American and Canadian market.

East Metals North America currently seeks a Financial Accounting Manager to join our team based at our EVRAZ North America’s Downtown Chicago Headquarters office!

This is a hands- on individual contributor role responsible for East Metals’ entire accounting function, reporting to senior management in United States and Russia, as well as, communicating and providing financial and operational information with finance counterparts in Switzerland.

This position reports to the East Metals North America President and will provide support to the Vice President of Vanadium in Moscow, Russia. Additional responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Complete month-end procedures
  • Ensure that adequate financial internal controls exist and are maintained, including account reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting to EMNA management and EVRAZ North America (EINA) (P&L, Balance Sheet, PRM, etc.)
  • Preform financial analysis to support senior decision making
  • Prepare monthly financial forecasts
  • Prepare Annual Financial Budget
  • Process bi-monthly payroll (temporary until payroll taken over by EINA)
  • Manage banking (liaise with bank and maintain banking relationship, manage online banking platform)
  • Prepare cash forecast and submit cash reports to EVRAZ management
  • Prepare monthly intercompany reconciliations between EMNA and other EVRAZ group companies
  • Complete periodic governmental and state returns
  • Act as Quickbooks administrator
  • Liaise with tax consultants to complete annual tax returns, prepare tax reporting and any other tax engagements (including sign off and acceptance of the annual tax engagement agreement)
  • Manage the Supplemental Retirement plan for a maximum of 6 individuals (liaise with actuaries, process payments to members via payroll, reporting requirements)
  • Manage Accounts Payable of all vendors (which include EVRAZ group companies)
  • Manage Accounts Receivable for all customers
  • Liaise with East Metals AG (Switzerland) to co-ordinate pricing and other financial information
  • Manage company insurance (annual renewal process, premium payments, liaise with broker where necessary)
  • Manage employee expense accounts (company credit cards, approvals, accounting entries and reconciliations)
  • Work with external and internal auditors where applicable
  • Adhoc analysis exercises general financial management to ensure cash levels are maintaining and all financial obligations are met
  • Support the other East Metals North America team members where necessary



Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • At least three to five (3-5) years of hands -on accounting and financial experience with a strong background in Cash Management
  • Previous exposure to Accounting Systems required: Quickbooks Premium (on Right Networks platform) a plus
  • Exceptional professional communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to key stakeholders, executives, as well as financial and non- financial professionals across the organization
  • Self- starter with proven track record of taking ownership and driving results while working independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and analytical skills required
