Job Description and Responsibilities

EVRAZ North America is seeking an talented Finance & Accounting Intern at our downtown Chicago Headquarters. The selected intern will work within a number of departments including Financial Planning & Analysis, Accounting, and Scrap Procurement. The program will allow the intern to gain an understanding of the business while adding value to the organization by assisting the FP&A, Accounting, and Scrap Procurement teams with their current monthly responsibilities and other longer term projects, as applicable. Throughout the program, the intern will develop skills in areas such as working in Oracle and other accounting systems, assisting with the monthly close procedures, assisting with account reconciliations, performing financial analysis, forecasting, inventory analysis, management reporting, and other projects to support our business. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the monthly close process
  • Assist with account reconciliations
  • Utilize problem solving, analytical, research, and organizational skills to understand the business and to support forecasting and management reporting
  • Discuss assignment specifications and performance objectives with assigned mentor
  • Support EVRAZ values at all times



Job Requirements

  • Accounting or Finance Undergraduate (3.0 GPA or better)
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Professional demeanor
  • Mature and dependable
  • Strong, adaptable communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Team oriented
  • Adaptable and a quick learner
  • Ability to effectively navigate a matrixed corporate environment
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
