Job Description and Responsibilities

EVRAZ North America is looking for a temporary Buyer to join our team in Pueblo, Colorado. This is a project based position reporting to the Contracts/Procurement Manager. The Buyer is responsible for procuring services and materials for a major industrial project. This involves sourcing suppliers that are best suited to achieve project quality, cost and delivery goals.

  • Identify potential sources for the procurement of project production material and generate measurable cost savings on a continuous basis
  • Conduct ah-hoc analysis requests, forecasts, KPIs/Metrics, and reports within Supply Chain using tools but not limited to SAP R/3, BI, established tools & process
  • Review purchase requisition and purchase orders for completeness, accuracy and conformance with established policies and procedures
  • Confer and negotiate with suppliers to obtain product or service information such as price, availability and delivery schedule
  • Prepare and generate purchase order and change notices
  • Resolve any discrepancies with suppliers and forward all necessary documentation for invoicing approval and payment
  • Responsible to utilize basic order agreements issued with suppliers and monitor agreements
  • Present information to top management and various stakeholders
  • Undertake supplier visits, compiling visit reports on completion. Developing process improvements to the internal supplier chain, including better utilization of systems



Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics or Engineering
    • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, APICS certification a plus
    • Knowledge and experience with lean manufacturing and supply chain practices highly valued
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, required
    • Ability to coordinate multiple work schedules (i.e. the 5 day 8 hour, 4 day 10 hour, 9 day 80 hour, and other work schedules as applicable)
    • Excellent team player, strong ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with employees and members of management
