Job Description and Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a Benefits Analyst to join our growing team at our Headquarters office located in Downtown Chicago.  This individual will support the administration of various U.S. retirement benefit programs including both 401(k) and Pension plans. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Retirement plan administration for the defined benefit, defined contribution, and supplemental retirement plans
  • Work with broader HR team, auditors, finance team, legal, and actuaries on various retirement items
  • Loan administration to ensure adherence to loan terms and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Partner with retirement plan administrator on complex pension items such as disability retirement
  • Audit retirement plan eligibility and participant data such as employee and employer 401(k) contributions; resolve discrepancies within system and with record-keeper
  • Prepare and submit the annual 5500 filings
  • Analyze and prepare funding for retirement plans each payperiod and annually
  • Coordination of legal communications (e.g., Annual Funding Notice, Summary Annual Report, etc.)
  • Process pension Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDROs)
  • Identify and develop process improvements
  • Special projects as needed (such as file feed integrations, total reward statement data, implementations, conversions, and testing, and project management)

 



Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or related field
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working with employee retirement benefits
  • Solid knowledge of various retirement legislation
  • Advanced MS Office skills (e.g., proficiency in Excel to include using pivot tables, V-look ups and the mail merge feature in Word)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detailed and customer service oriented
