Job Description and Responsibilities

 

We are seeking a Quality Control Supervisor to join our team.  This position will be filled on a temporary basis for a period of 6 to 12 months with the potential for renewal. 

In this role, this individual will be responsible for ensuring that our products are of the highest quality.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform periodic audits to ensure conformance with documented work procedures.
  • As required, participate in TPG internal and external audit functions (supplier quality).
  • Monitor downgrade trends specific to the manufacturing lines and communicate issues to QA and Operations. Develop improvement opportunities.
  • Provide dispositions for product on quality hold.
  • Provide technical assistance for shop floor quality issues relating to bare pipe manufacturing or coating application.
  • Develop best practices involving testing methods for safety, efficiency, and accuracy.
  • Participate in product and process trials with pipe making, pipe coating, and research personnel.
  • Investigate, analyze results for product associated with product claims.
  • Technical report writing with a strong ability to summarize key findings and identify next steps.
  • Provide leadership in developing and maintaining safe work operating and inspection practices.
  • Establish, implement and track participation in an annual training program to ensure Operations and Quality personnel maintain critical knowledge regarding the inspection methods, specification requirements and lab certification and testing of our products.
  • Liaise with QA Management to manage incoming inspection issues and field investigation issues
  • Develop training literature for quality inspectors.



 



Job Requirements

 

Requirements:

  • 5-8 years technical experience and a recognized degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-5 years of experience leading teams in a product or process development role within an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of metals-based manufacturing processes, including chemical and mechanical testing procedures
  • Must understand ISO quality standards and Quality Management Systems (QMS) including quality control planning for new products.
  • Budget coordination at the department level (an asset).
  • Proficient in MS Office tools such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to effectively present project results to management team.
  • Technical report writing with a strong ability to summarize key findings and identify next steps.
