Job Description and Responsibilities

A successful Stores Helper will provide excellent customer service by making prompt and courteous deliveries to internal customer orders. This positon will deliver and pickup parts, supplies and samples to various departments across the facility. This position would ideally be a pathway to become an effective Stores Clerk. 

  • Spend up to  50% picking up and delivering samples across the facility
  • Deliver parts and supplies to craftsmen in designated areas of the facility; will need to track both expense items and inventory supplies
  • Ensure a designated company vehicle has the required inventory levels at all times and is replenished daily
  • Deliver and pickup from supplier facilities in emergency situations  
  • Assist Store Clerks in receiving, issuing, truck loading and unloading duties
  • Assist in inventory and cycle-counting
  • Fill-in as a Stores Clerk when required
  • Special projects as required



Job Requirements

Required:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills: oral, written and interpersonal – ability to interact with vendors, customers and individuals at varying levels within the organization
  • Self-starter – ability to be well organized, prioritize and be a strong problem solver
  • Detail oriented – ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Team player
  • Must be able to operate different material handling equipment including but not limited to a forklift, standing forklift and jib hoist
  • Able to lift 50 pounds

 

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of inventory control and receiving principles
  • Familiarity with maintenance repair parts and supplies
