Job Description and Responsibilities

We are seeking a Senior Technical Services Engineer to join our growing Rail Products team at our plant located in Pueblo, Colorado.  In this position you will provide technical support to key rail customers, while working directly with several EVRAZ teams.

  • Provides technical support to key rail customers
  • Responsible for identifying opportunities for new product development, conducting field track investigations, monitoring rail performance on track environments and working on product claims
  • Incumbent will work primarily with the EVRAZ-Pueblo product technology, metallurgists, process control coordinators, mill quality assurance and sales teams acting as the technical liaison between EVRAZ-Pueblo and the customer’s engineering and quality groups
  • Incumbent will manage the rail technical service team, developing and mentoring team members
  • Technical understanding of AREMA rail specification and critical EVRAZ manufacturing processes essential
  • Travel required; on demand and planned



Job Requirements

  • Metallurgical or Materials Engineering degree or other Technical degree.
  • Five to ten years working experience in the rail industry
  • Working knowledge of root cause problem solving methods and basic statistics
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to provide effective presentations to management regarding project timelines, results and next steps
  • Knowledgeable in the ISO process for corrective action reporting
  • Knowledgeable in the non-destructive methods of ultrasonics, magnetic particle and electromagnetic inspection
  • Experience writing technical reports summarizing key findings and identifying next steps
  • Strong inter-personal communication skills and experience working with customers and clients in challenging situations
