Senior Financial Accountant

City: Portland / State: Oregon

Job Description and Responsibilities

As our Senior Financial Accountant, you will be an integral part of our finance team in preparing inventory costing and financial reporting.  The Portland finance team works together to meet tight deadlines.  We strive for continuous improvement and we always search for new efficiencies within our processes in order to meet these deadlines while continuing to bring value by providing a high level of accuracy in reporting and strong support for the operations and sales teams.

 Responsibilities of the Senior Financial Accountant include: 

  • Participating in the monthly close process including inventory costing and intercompany reporting
  • Participating in the monthly forecast and annual budget process
  • Preparing monthly journal entries
  • Preparing monthly GL reconciliations
  • Attending and observing inventory counts
  • Preparing schedules and providing support for audit requests
  • Assisting in the preparation of IFRS financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Preparing process documentation for regular tasks
  • Assisting with special projects as needed



Job Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Previous inventory costing in a manufacturing environment
  • Three to five years’ experience in a relevant accounting position
  • Must be an advanced user of Excel
  • Previous experience with Hyperion a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Desire to question the status quo and drive continuous improvement
  • Ability to work independently, be a self-starter and be highly organized
