Job Description and Responsibilities

EVRAZ North America is looking for a Senior Accountant with strong problem-solving skills and work ethic. Based in Portland, this position is a key member of our Business Unit (BU) and EVRAZ US Finance groups. We are looking for an individual who brings energy to the task at hand, seeks answers, is eager to learn, takes charge for their professional career, and creates opportunities for advancement by bringing value to the BU accounting, finance and operations teams.

  • Assigned areas of the general ledger close for a publicly traded company, including journal entries and reconciliations
  • Assisting with inventory management, ad hoc business analysis, product cost analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting of the Portland BU
  • Financial statement analysis
  • Analysis of monthly financial results



Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience, preference given to candidates with experience in the manufacturing industry and/or strong inventory accounting background
  • 2 years experience public accounting and/or CPA preferred
  • Strong understanding of accounting processes and systems
  • Exposure to US GAAP and IFRS standards and reporting, preferred
  • ERP experience, business analytics/reporting preferred. Proficient with Oracle; Hyperion cloud-based solutions, preferred
  • Motivated self-starter who can effectively work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical, financial and systems skills, required. Must be detail oriented, analytical, problem solver and creative thinker
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills are mandatory
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
