Labour Relations Coordinator

City: Regina / State: Saskatchewan

Job Description and Responsibilities

 

EVRAZ NA is seeking a temporary Labour Relations Coordinator at our Regina facility. The Labour Relations Coordinator, under the direction of the Manager, Labour Relations is responsible for providing support in all aspects of Labour Relations activities, including documentation, reporting, and for managing administrative processes related to employee disciplines, grievances and investigations. This position is responsible for using Workday to support the HR Management team and document employee files.

  • Administer a range of Labour Relations activities including: collective agreement administration, grievance and issue management, collective bargaining, union/management relations, performance management and conflict resolution processes
  • Support HR Labour Relations Manager to conduct investigations, summarize findings, recommend and implement solutions related to formal complaints consistent with procedural requirements in the collective agreement and relevant employment legislation
  • Track Disciplines, Grievances, Post Incident Testing and Harassment Investigations
  • Collect materials for grievance investigation, documentation, reporting, and discipline delivery
  • Coordinate and record Joint Management/Union meetings and edit documents as required by Labour Relations Manager
  • Report monthly suspensions from the discipline tracker and communicate this information to frontline managers
  • Coordinate union leave of absence requests between union and management
  • Provide limited consultative support to management on the interpretation, application and administration of the collective agreements, legislation and company policies
  • Collect all background evidence and documentation for arbitration cases and contract negotiations
  • Maintain appropriate records and implement Labour Relations processes that limit liability and support the effectiveness of organizational objectives
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with union representatives to employees and members of management
  • Supports and maintains the HR email box, answers the general inquiry HR phone line and processes Workday tasks



 



Job Requirements

 

  • 1-3 years of experience in a HR role with a focus on Labour relations
  • Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, management or a related field
  • Computer skills including Excel, Word, Workday and Outlook
  • Solid knowledge in Labour relations related policies and practices
  • Demonstrated experience in handling sensitive situations and details with high degree of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage upwards and downwards
  • Attention to detail and well-organized while managing competing priorities
  • Creative problem solver with high degree of analytical skills
