Inventory Control / Raw Materials Supervisor

Job Description and Responsibilities

 

We are seeking a Raw Materials Supervisor to join our Steelmaking team at our Pueblo, Colorado plant.  As a Raw Materials Supervisor you will be responsible to lead and motivate a team of mobile equipment operators.

Your specific duties in this role will also include:

  • Lead team towards higher levels of safety, environmental cleanliness, quality and production through strict adherence to our corporate standards and visions.  
  • Maintaining inventories through zero pile methods
  • Purchasing materials according to purchase spedifications and verifying conformance of materials to purchase specifications.
  • Work with the purchasing department and vendors to issue requisitions and receive materials.



 



Job Requirements

 

As a Raw Materials Supervisor, you must be a highly motivated and effective leader with a strong work ethic and a strong commitment to safety. 
 
Specific qualifications for the role include:

  • High school diploma required 
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in inventory control and material procurement in heavy industrial and/ or manufacturing industry
  • Experience in steelmaking, knowledge of steelmaking raw materials and alloys highly desired 
  • Ability to work in a team environment with proven interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills 
  • Strong problem-solving and proven decision making skills
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organizational, time management and multitasking skills 
  • Highly motivated and a self-starter
  • Ability to interact with all levels of our organization
  • Good computer skills in Excel  and Word required;  ERP experience (Oracle preferred
  • Experience in the management of 6S projects and sustaining preferred 
  • Experience managing demurrage utilizing FIFO preferred
