Job Description and Responsibilities

We currently have an opening for a Heat Treat Supervisor for our Heat Treat facility at our Portland, OR location.

The Heat Treat Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and directing heat treating and loading of steel plate to meet our customers’ needs while maximizing productivity. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Use available manpower and resources to accomplish foretasted production schedules,
  • Utilize warehouse space in an efficient manner to help expedite handling and shipping of steel plate
  • Coordinate needed repairs with Maintenance without compromising safety and production
  • Provide/attend regular safety meetings
  • Utilize inspections and safety contacts to ensure safe working conditions
  • Maintain and use controls which will ensure accomplishment of objectives as they relate to quality and workmanship.



Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • At least two years’ work experience in a production department
  • At least 3-5 years’ experience in a leadership/ supervisor role. If no leadership experience, must have a least 3-5 years’ heat treat experience
  • General proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent math, oral and written communication skills
  • Willing and able to work in heat, humidity, fumes, odors, dust and noise
  • Able to withstand frequent walking
  • Willing and able to work 12-hour shifts, rotating and/or overtime and holidays as needed required
  • Completion of First Line Supervisor Training preferred
