Job Description and Responsibilities

We are seeking a Civil Engineer to join our growing team at our plant located in Pueblo, Colorado.  The Civil Engineer will oversee the full scope of Civil projects.

  • Oversee the installation, construction of Civil projects to include; roads, bridges, building & equipment foundations, building erection, crane installation, underground utility installation, auxiliary facilities
  • Review and analyze Civil project designs and comment accordingly with changes or improvements
  • Develop project schedules (engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning)
  • Spend time in the “field” observing construction / erection / installation of civil, structural &/or equipment installation progress
  • Walk the construction site and check on the contractor’s weekly schedule progress
  • Interface with other Supplier Groups to provide scheduling data for change order requests, bid comparisons, and resolving schedule problems.
  • Develop and maintain project metrics (progress curves, labor histograms, etc.)
  • Potentially provide weekly/monthly summary reports to project management
  • Receive, track and record drawings and documentation
  • Oversee and coordinate equipment start up activities and commissioning



Job Requirements

  • BS Degree in construction management or civil engineering or civil engineering technology, or equivalent field experience
  • Minimum of four years’ experience, preferably with large industrial projects, or in an industrial manufacturing field
  • Experience with Excel, MS Project, and Word also needed
  • Must have a working knowledge of how to read engineering/construction drawings
  • Understand how project and Supplier work-scopes are actually sequenced and constructed
  • Ability to develop project schedules, possess schedule analysis, trouble shooting, and forecasting skills
  • Able to coordinate multiple work schedules (i.e. the 5 day 8 hour, 4 day 10 hour, 9 day 80 hour, and other work schedules as applicable)
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and be a team player
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule
  • Potential for international travel
